Poem: Shore Leave

Shore Leave

We've worked very hard to help build the Kingdom of God.

We've  strived to keep our spaces ship-shape throughout the year.

We willingly follow the will of God in all that we do,

For we know His way leads to peace, joy and cheer.

Now a new summer retreat is coming up soon;

A chance to have our batteries recharged and restored;

A change of pace from our busy and fruitful tasks.

Let us all excitedly come and be welcomed aboard.

It's a shore leave of sorts, a port in a storm,

Not a place to be rowdy or loud or foul,

But a chance to have spirits renewed and strength regained,

As we fellowship with our brothers and sisters awhile.

We'll break bread together in full harmony.

We'll share our stories as we help each other to grow.

We'll learn and reflect and pray as a group,

As God's Holy Spirit in us will abundantly flow.
